The GoPro HD HERO and HERO2 cameras are fantastic for filming HD footage and have superb automatic colour
and brightness correction built in. However when filming in bright conditions with a lot of reflective surfaces like water
snow, or clouds, the light levels can be so high that the footage is overbright and loses a lot of detail and definition.
To increase the quality of your GoPro videos, you can fit one of these polarising lens filters.
These help by reducing the glare/bloom caused by those highly reflective surfaces, and also
increase colour saturation and contrast to make your footage a lot more vibrant!
As well as practically eliminating all glare, these filters really make the colours pop out in your videos
without having to perform any post-process colour correction. The greatest difference is usually noticed in
the sky, becoming a pure deep blue colour, rather than the washed out near-white often seen in amateur footage.
There is a very good reason why professional photographers and film makers use polarising filters on a daily
basis! Now you can achieve the same great results, at a fraction of the professional cost!
This filter has been proven to work in almost all conditions just short of when it is dumping snow or dark and gloomy.
Glare is often present even when it is cloudy, and although the filter may darken the video slightly, it is much easier to
lighten up a slightly darker video, than trying to correct an overexposed video.

Instructions for making 2x circular bubble lens filters from a single 'Flat Lens Dive Housing' filter:
The original Polar Pro circular bubble lens filters were 21mm diameter circle shaped. This is about the size of a 1 pence piece.
The Flat Lens Dive Housing filters are rectangular sized 45x35 mm.
This means you can cut two circle shapes from the rectangle to make yourself 2x bubble lens filters!
Simply lay a 1p coin on the dive housing filter and carefully draw around it with a fine pen, being careful only to draw the minimum
amount you need as a cutting guide. Move the 1p coin to the opposite corner, and repeat the process.
Then carefully cut out the circle shapes, and you will have two bubble lens filters.
Using this method you can create Red, Magenta, or Polarising bubble lens filters!
INSTALLATION
To install the polariser filter, you'll need to remove your GoPro camera from the outer housing.
Then handling the filter carefully by the edges, orient the lens to the point where it appears darkest.
Place it into the lens bubble cavity in the same orientation, and tap the case gently until the filter is centred.
Then re-insert your GoPro camera and you are good to go!
