The GoPro HERO range of sports cameras all come with a tough, shockproof outer housing.
Designed to protect the camera as it's bashed around during your filming, the outer housing comes
with both a waterproof backdoor, and a non-waterproof one that has two large cutouts in it.
The downside of the waterproof case is that you don't get airflow around the camera, and the waterproof housing
muffles the otherwise excellent audio capabilites of your GoPro camera system. In these cases, where waterproofing
is not as important (such as filming from inside hot vehicles) you'll want to use the Skeleton Backdoor.
If you've managed to break or lose the non-waterproof backdoor that came with your camera, or if you need a spare door
this replacement skeleton backdoor will fit waterproof and skeleton open-sided GoPro HERO housings that are of the older
larger size. You can tell which these are because they all have silver screws around the housing lens area.
With a little pressure you can carefully pull the metal bar of the old door away from the housing shell,
and then reverse the process to fit the new backdoor onto the housing.
The Skeleton backdoor comes complete with fitted rubber seal and foam pads to keep the GoPro camera itself snug
and rattle-free in your outer housing of choice. It is compatible with GoPro HERO housings that are of the older
larger size. You can tell which these are because they all have silver screws around the housing lens area.
However please remember that this backdoor is open, so your camera is not waterproof with this fitted!
